ABOUT LAVISHAPE
It is used in the treatment of obesity and belongs to the drug class peripherally acting Antiobesity agents. It works by blocking the digestion of fats from the diet. LAVISHAPE stops about 30% of fat eaten from getting absorbed into the body.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with food. The recommended dose is 1 capsule (60-mg) with each meal containing fat.
Skip the missed dose and take at your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
SIDE EFFECTS
severe stomach pain
severe pain in your lower back
blood in your urine, painful or difficult urination
signs of kidney problems including little or no urinating; swelling in your feet or ankles; feeling tired or short of breath
signs of liver problems including nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tiredness, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Consult your doctor if you have
a condition with low thyroid hormone levels
a high amount of oxalic acid in urine
anorexia nervosa
bulimia
damage to the liver and inflammation
blockage of normal bile flow
abnormal absorption of food nutrients in the gastrointestinal tract
calcium oxalate kidney stones
abnormal liver function tests
pregnancy
DRUG INTERACTIONS
amiodarone
cyclosporine
insulin or oral diabetes medicine
HIV or AIDS medications
seizure medicine (especially if your seizures get worse while taking this medicine)
a vitamin or mineral supplement that contains beta-carotene or vitamin E
a blood thinner-Warfarin, Coumadin, Jantoven.
PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY: Do not use LAVISHAPE if you are pregnant. Weight loss is not recommended during pregnancy, even if you are overweight.
BREAST FEEDING: Taking LAVISHAPE can make it harder
for your body to absorb certain vitamins. These vitamins are important if you are nursing a baby. Do not use this medicine without a doctor’s advice if you are breast-feeding a baby.
LIVER: Take LAVISHAPE with caution, especially if you have a history of Liver diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.
KIDNEY: LAVISHAPE may cause kidney stones in patients suffering from chronic kidney disease. Please consult a doctor if you have kidney problems so that the dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.
DIET & LIFE STYLE
Your daily intake of fat, protein, and carbohydrates should be evenly divided over all of your daily meals.
LAVISHAPE can make it harder for your body to absorb certain vitamins, and you may need to take a vitamin and mineral supplement while you are taking this medicine
Avoid fried foods, fast food, instant food, pasta, burger, noodles and cookies.
